Hobby Projects

This page features a selection of my personal projects. Since not all of them have been fully documented, only those with available images are included. It also serves as a personal motivator — helping me improve how I capture and track each process, and making it easier to share with friends when they ask. These projects are not tutorials, but rather showcases of the things I enjoy building, experimenting with, and learning from.

Electric Skateboard

Electric Skateboard

This was my second homemade electric skateboard, built from scratch at a time when commercial e-boards didn’t exist. With no prior experience in electronics, I learned by doing — diving into CAD design, early 3D printing, and the open-source community for support.Specs:Bamboo deckDual 4.5kW DC motorsDual VESCs (Vedder’s ESC)Li-Po batteries (originally 2x 5S6P, now upgraded to custom 18650 Li-ion pack)Modified Wii Nunchuck as remoteRGB LED strip + front/tail lightsIt reached 43 km/h in under 3 seconds, with a range of ~16 km. Components were mounted to allow board flex and ground clearance. The board still runs today — a lasting result of hands-on experimentation and curiosity.

Portable Speaker

Portable Speaker V2

This is the second iteration of my custom-built portable speaker, redesigned from the ground up with major upgrades in volume, performance, and sound quality. With improved driver selection, proper acoustic simulation, and a fully modeled enclosure, this version delivers a much louder and cleaner listening experience — all in a portable, DIY-friendly package.

Lightdeck

Lightdeck

Custom light controller built for my former dorm.An ESP32 handles processing and speed, while an Arduino Mega manages I/O and ensures DMX library compatibility. The system supports both a custom app and a touchscreen interface to control the party lights in the "Slyngelstue." Fully programmable on the fly.

Festival Loudspeaker

Festival Loudspeaker

60–80 hours of insane sound with LED dance lighting. Connect via Bluetooth or AUX (split to 5 devices). Swappable dual 95Ah batteries, GPS-tracked with Airtags, locked battery and control box for security. Wireless charging, dual USB-A ports, and rugged enough to survive RF '19, '22, '23, '24, and '25. This beast can take a beating.

Motorized kids bike

Motorized kids bike

Converted a cheap off-road electric scooter and an old bike into a high-speed drift bike using parts from a broken luxury chair. The build reached 80 km/h and was completed quickly — one of my most fun and spontaneous projects.

Electric Skateboard

E-Bike Convertion

Converted a traditional bike into a custom E-bike.Features 40 km range, front and rear lighting, and GPS tracking. Includes custom 3D-printed parts for cable shielding and a reinforced battery adapter for improved stability and reliability.

Underwater scooter

Underwater scooter

500W Underwater Scooter – Custom Battery & Wireless Charging Bought secondhand and non-functional, this scooter got a new life with a custom Li-ion battery and an integrated USB PD wireless charging system — eliminating the need to open the unit for charging and improving overall reliability.

LED Floor

LED Floor

Lightdeck Modular Dancefloor – V1 to V2After creating the Lightdeck, I began developing a modular LED dancefloor as my first attempt at commercializing a product. The V1 prototype proved the concept but raised the floor by 8 cm and lacked modularity. In response, I designed a flatter, cheaper, and fully modular V2 version using CAN bus communication, supporting up to 25 m² of connected tiles. Although the project was postponed due to lack of space, I plan to resume development and improve the design for easier production.

Speedboat V2

Speedboat V2

3D-Printed Jet Boat – From V1 to V3Inspired by YouTube videos, I built my first jet boat (V1) on a borrowed, repaired 3D printer. Based on a Printables design, it was my entry into functional prints. Years later, I designed a more powerful V2 from scratch. It performed well but lacked flow simulations, which led to waterplaning and reduced jet efficiency. The boat is now disassembled, with plans underway for a redesigned V3 next summer — more stable, optimized, and even faster.
